Most of the water in the plants is lost through the stomata present mostly in the underside of the leaves. The roots of the plants require only a minimum part of water, and the maximum part is released through the stomata. He releasing of water by stomata also helps to keep the plant cool. The osmotic pressure of the plant cells are also changes due to transpiration of the plant. While taking in carbon dioxide through stomata, water goes out as transpiration.
