ages of edna,ellie and elsa are consequtive integers the sum of their age is 117.  their ages are from youngest to oldest. please help.

If they were all the same age, then it would be (117 / 3) = 39.

But they're not.  So make one of them 40 and another one 38, and
they'll still add up to 117 .

Their ages are 38, 39, and 40 .

What I can't figure out is how three nice women born in the 1970s
wound up with names like that.
