False, yes acceleration does speed up an object but, if an object is slowing down it has a negative acceleration, also if an abject is at a constant speed it will have zero acceleration (example: a brick dropped from a plane will stop accelerating whilst still falling when it reaches terminal velocity (a constant speed))
