9y-11=7

you have to get the variable by itself. It's 9y-11=7, so you would add 11 to both sides. This would make it 9y=18, to continue getting the variable by itself you divide by 9 on both sides

y=2

Add both sides by 11;

9y = 7 + 11
9y = 18

Now divide both sides by 9;

9y/9 = 18/9
y = 18/9

y = 2
