The volume of a cylinder is equal to the base area (a circle) times the height of the cylinder. In your case you have:

[tex]V= \pi r^{2}*h [/tex]
So: [tex]V=3.14( 5.5^{2})12=1139.8=1140 ft^{3} [/tex]
