A blocked blood vessel is like stepping on a water hose. Nothing is the leaving the hose end, but lots of water pressure is building up. When a vessel is clotted, or blocked, it lets nothing get through and the blood pressure will rise as the blood behind the clot pushes and expands the vessel. This could cause a blood vessel to burst, or stop blood from reaching a certain part of the body which is dangerous. Hope this helped!
