The origin is the coordinate pair (0,0). it is at the very center of the chart, where the x and y planes cross. The first number in the pair is the x-coordinate. This is how far you will go from the origin on the horizontal axis (x axis). the second is the y-coordinate. This is how far you will go from the origin on the vertical axis, or y axis.
