The Mayans lived in central America between 2500 BC and 1500 CE. The Mayans were a religious society and held festivities in favor of the gods. The Aztecs were destroyed by Hernan cortes in 1521. Originally the Aztecs were people who came to the valley of mexico during the 12th century. After awhile they became the dominant power in Mesoamerica .
