[tex]2x-3y=-13[/tex]
[tex]x-5y=18[/tex], [tex]x=18+5y[/tex]

[tex]2(18+5y)-3y=-13[/tex]
[tex]36+10y-3y=-13[/tex]
[tex]36+7y=-13[/tex]
[tex]7y=-49[/tex]
[tex]y=-7[/tex]

[tex]x-5(-7)=18[/tex]
[tex]x+35=18[/tex]
[tex]x=-17[/tex]

[tex]Answer: (-17,-7)[/tex]

x - 5y = 18
x = 18 + 5y

2x - 3y = -13
2 ( 18 + 5y ) - 3y = -13
36 +10y - 3y = -13
36 + 7y = -13
7y  = -49
y = -7

x = 18 + 5y = 18 + 5(-7) = 18 - 35 = -17

So, x = -17 and y = -7
