the word recycling can happen at convergent plate boundaries. when two plates are moving towards each other, the plates of the lowest densities will slip under the more dense ones. the less dense ones will sink back into magma, and melt. Then that magma under the crust leaks out at divergent boundaries, creating new crusts.
