Consider the equation
[tex] \dfrac{1}{4}x-5=\dfrac{x-20}{3} [/tex].
It is easy to see that x=20 is a solution of this equation, because when x=20:
[tex] \dfrac{1}{4}x-5=\dfrac{1}{4}\cdot 20-5=5-5=0 [/tex],
[tex] \dfrac{x-20}{3}=\dfrac{20-20}{3}=\dfrac{0}{3}=0 [/tex].
Also this equation have:
1. the variable on both sides;
2. a fractional coefficient on the left side;
3. a fraction on the right side.
