Bacteria are very small micro organisms, many of them are so small to the extent that they have to be magnified about 1000 times before they can be seen under the microscope. Most bacteria have sizes that vary from 0.2 to 2.0 micrometer in diameter. Thus, for average sized bacteria, about 1000 bacteria can easily fix into a period at the end of a sentence.
