The San Andreas Fault is the prime one
with many other faults spreading out around it. The earthquakes are the
result of the two plates moving against each other. The San Andreas Fault is the name of California's famous break in the earths crust that causes earthquakes to occur. I know this because i did a science project on earthquakes. Hope it helps! :-)
