The attorney is incorrect. Anyone with type A or B can give birth to a child with Type O, since the O gene is recessive. It is highly possible that Mr. Johnson can be A(O) Type blood and "Mrs. Johnson" can be either A(O) or B(O) type. Both parents could have given their child O genes causing the child to be Type O.
