What roles did women have on the colonial farm?

Women in the colonies were very busy. They had to take care of the children, cook the meals, feed the chickens, wash the clothing( this took about 3 days), make the candles, make butter, clean the house, sew, be nurse, help with the farming if needed, chop wood, do anything else that needed to be done. These were not weak women.
