50%+20%=70%

okay first you would automatically know that 50% is 50 of 100% or .5

to figure how much 1/5 is of 100 you divide the total ( 100 ) by the denominator (5). Then multiply the answer you get ( 20 ) by the numerator ( 1 ) .

Add up the totals you have now ( 50 + 20 )  . which IS 70 .

subtract 70 from 100 and you get .... 30 !

30% of 100 is .... 30

percentage = 30 ( the answer ) :) good luck on future problems
