The League of Nations didn't work as Wilson envisioned it because it didn't have any power. His hope was to create a group of countries that when one was attacked, the other countries would rush to aid that country against its attacker; however, no one wanted to fight after World War I because all of their resources were basically depleted and wars are very expensive to fight. Also because it didn't have that much power, it didn't have a military force.
