There are many possible costs of using renewable energy in that they take large investments upfront to build infrastructure that will then be able to create savings in the long run of using renewable energy. In addition renewable energies are often more expensive in the short run in comparison to fossil fuel energies. The costs are usually in regards to building or implementing new technologies like wind mills or solar panels.
