When you're working with units of measure, the prefix 'kilo...'
almost always means '1,000'.

1 kilometer means 1,000 meters

322 (kilometers) per hour means  322 (1,000 meters) per hour.

322 (1,000 meters)  =  322,000 meters

Does that help a little bit ?
